Desk jockeys sometimes insist on being in the 90 degree corner pocket of their desks. This does not come without ergonomic risk factors. For almost every ergonomic assessment you will find two associated ergonomic risk factors with the 90 degree corner - contact stress and awkward postures. You'll find correlative aches & pains to wrists, shoulders and neck. Typically, the worker will believe that the solution to such aches & pains is a massage. Massages are fantastic but these aches & pains could be prevented in the first place. First, the computer and its components could be moved to one side of the desk. But, you'll invariably come across that one desk jockey that will give you every reason why they can't move out of the corner. There's a solution for that. A corner sleeve could do the trick. Corner sleeves come in different sizes and from different companies. It will turn a non-ergonomic space into an ergonomic working space. Contact stresses and awkward postures will be reduced greatly. Take a look at the example below. This worker had aches & pains as two risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders were present. The corner fostered contact stress and awkward reaching. She moved to the near side of the desk which resolved her issues. For others, for the ones that find it impossible to move out of the corner, the sleeve would resolve the 90 degree corner issue.
